Avoid SEO Mistakes

SEO process is very simple and familiar. SEO is not rocket science, but I am amazed how many people make mistakes. Even SEO experts have been guilty of them. Is it ignorance or negligence? Be that as it may look at what these sins SEO and how we cope.

1) Copy the title and meta tags, this is the most common mistake. I saw a site with multiple pages with the same title and meta tags. Each site is different and has a different purpose, does not make sense to have duplicate meta tags and titles. Each product page should have the right keywords and meta tags in the field. Not only is this good for SEO point of view, but also a site visitor.

2) Absurd default sections: a website created with WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver is the default title such as "Coming Soon". As expected, the designers do not care about SEO. Many web pages are the title as "home." Many sites have the titles are incorrect / insufficient information. Auto dealer website may be the title of "auto Steve." The labels are of little use, since it does not reveal what the dealer is located, what kind of car or brands they sell. Not many people are looking for "car Steve."

Instead, they seek to "used car dealer from New Jersey" or something like that. The title should have keywords that people are more likely to find.

3) Use of web sites in Flash: I always cringe when I see a site entirely in Flash. It is a mistake that web designers, super jealous and more people are always ready willing to make less stopped by the SEO consultants wise. Flash allows web designers to make nice with all the bells and whistles, but they are like kryptonite to the extent that the search engine optimization of a site is concerned. Search engines can not read flash and has no way of knowing what the site is about. If your site is in flash, it will be cool, but it will be a lonely life, as it has no presence in the Internet traffic and no answer.

Although the site is only a Flash-based menu, the problems are many. Search engines can not read the menu, so it is very difficult to crawl all the pages on your site.

Making life easier for Google, with CSS-based navigation more accessible.

4) Negligible incoming links: On-page optimization, although important is not the end of SEO. Inbound links from relevant sites with good PageRank is the lifeline of a website. Try to get inbound links from different sources with different anchor text.

5) SEO Too: Many SEO consultants stuff your website with keywords. I do not know that more is not better. Search engines take a dim view of such sites and can punish. Make a copy of what seems natural, with a hint of decent keywords.
